RIP Janet Van Dyne (The Wasp)
When my friend Ray told me that Janet Van Dyne, aka The Wasp, was recently killed in the course of the foolish and unnecessary Secret Invasion "mega-event," I felt like I'd taken a brutal body blow. Jan was not only the finest leader the Avengers ever had, for 45 years, she was one of the hottest babes in the entire Marvel Universe. Damn you, Marvel Comics!Labels: action babes, comics

I totally agree that the Wasp's death was not only poor judgment by Marvel, but, for me, a not-so-fond farewell from this long-time reader. Perhaps an overreaction, but since Marvel seemingly not caring that it killed off it's second-longest existing heroine (with Sue Richards the only longer existing heroine), then I find I no longer care to read most Marvel titles anymore. I make one exception with X-Men since I have the whole run from #1 on, and that only to keep up the run. Otherwise...
It can't succeed in fact, that is what I think.
