It's a cheap gag. "Cunning Stunt" is a notorious punch-line Spoonerism. It's a way of making a juvenile schoolyard-curse at Sheehan while hiding behind plausible deniability in a cowardly way.
Her pod-like attachment to the Reverend Doctor Jesse Jackson's back in a photographed pose revealed the Sheehan woman's need for a host to nourish her need to exhibit her counterfeit virtues, and it emphasized the Reverend Doctor Jesse Jackson's evident discomfort arising from the human trash his strange ministry inflicts upon the Reverend Doctor. It is too cruel! She resemnbles nothing so much as a down-market Columbine from a seedy set of Italian traveling buskers whose act features cuckold baiting on the stage while light-fingered dips wander among the rubes, practicing the ancient trade of the cut-purse.
I agree, all Cindy Sheehan is doing, is emboldening Al Qaeda.
wally, i'm no fan of cops (hardly!), but it's not like demonstration "permits" are hard to get in DC. this is a manufactured clash that sheehan would have avoided simply by not blocking the sidewalk. without a permit, she could legally have walked back and forth there with a small group around the clock if she wanted. she could have gotten a permit for a larger group easily. pure manipulation from a highly questionable media figure who's enjoying her spotlight far too much, in my opinion. i think she screwed herself on this one. major mistake to have created this sham as if she's prohibited from protesting at the white house. not even close to the truth. i'm about as anti-war as it gets, and i'm very sick of cindy sheehan and her parade which apparently ignores the vile culpability of soldiers. her son wanted to earn a buck with the notoriously unconstitutional and brutal US military? to hell with him. hope she disappears, pronto. this incident will help.
Hmmm, I missed the Spoonerism, but it's obvious in hindsight. Sometimes my naivete gets in my way. I'm not impressed by Sheehan, I'm thinking she had no problem with Bill Clinton's illegal wars but found religion when the other Big Government party came to power. She should feel lucky about being charged with a misdemeanor; this is the regime that charges people with felonious assault when airline passengers resist their illegal searches too strenuously.
to even think of dumping all the elitist garbage on sheehan and her son as being bad for him joining the military and not being worthy to be an activist is utterly classist. I use the word classist because you apparently don't care about any other bigotry because you are mindless slave to the juevinille worthless simple-minded
