Brilliant observations that have such direct application to what's happening at my day job that if I had any integrity at all I'd have to quit ... or maybe I'll just show this YouTube clip to my boss ...

No, Francois, no. I've missed two weeks of Conan O'Brien. If his writers want more money, then his writers shall receive more money. If it requires all writers to receive more money, then that is what shall be done to insure that I get to see Conan again.
When was the last time Conan O'Brien was funny?
I don't have enough information to hold any valid opinions about the writers' strike.
But Harlan Ellison has always been a pompous, good-for-nothing asshole. Don't know if he's overpaid. Talented as hell, but insufferable. If he's representative of the breed, then the strike is just another good reason to kill your television and let'em starve.
Yeah, what Joel said! A less arrogant, megalomaniac could have conveyed the sparse meat in Ellison's tirade in a rather more quiet tone of voice, made a reasonable, clear point without terrorizing the clerical staff.
