As I watched Wolf Blitzer on CNN last night, I kept thinking, "Help me, Obiwan Kenobi, you're my only hope..." Besides the showy "Wow!" Factor, what function did this new election coverage technology serve?

I'm a big fan of watching Wolf Blitzer. He's the only one who doesn't give me a headache.
It gave the illusion that CNN -- and also our civilization as a whole -- has grasped "progress." After all, in 2008 we have no Millennium Falcon, light sabers, or even flying cars, but Wolf has his hologram gizmo. The "Wow" was it.
